WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
They continually go above and beyond the call of duty to help the animals.
There is almost always a helping hand when we feel there is no end. and always
an ear to lend when the stress of what we do gets too much to bear. This a
very rewarding endeavor. Star North has volunteer opportunities to fit any
schedule.
- Foster Care. This is our most urgent
need. If you can spare a place in your home to help an animal while it is
waiting to be adopted, we need you! Star North provides medical treatment.
All you provide is exercise and affection. The more foster homes we acquire,
the more animals we are able to place into established, loving families.
- Socializing Dogs and Cats.. The majority
of animals that come to our shelter are in need of interaction with loving
humans who are patient and kind. We can always use help walking dogs, holding
and petting cats and kittens... and just basically loving the animals until
they find a forever home! This type of work can be very rewarding but does
require a lot of patience and love.
- Help with Fundraising Projects & Events.
You may be suprised at the passion we have for helping these animals....but
passion can't always pay for vet bills. We work very hard to create and
run fundraising projects and events that contribute to the community and
also raise money to keep up with the tremendous budget needed to save homeless
animals in our county. We need volunteers to think of creative ideas and
help with implementation on all levels.
- Adoption Followup. Star North attempts
to contact all adopters within the first year to ensure that things are
going well and to followup on the spaying/neutering of animals who were
adopted prior to being neutered/spayed. This volunteer would be provided
with a list of names/numbers and animal "names" . No specific hours or quantities
of time is required.
- Donate money, time, items for rummage
sales and other fundraisers, dog and cat food, puppy and kitten food, leashes,
collars, treats and toys, cat litter, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, bleach,
dish soap, pine sol, waterless hand sanitizer, paper towels, 45-gallon trash
bags, money! Every donation helps save a pets life!
